The album Electric Mud by blues legend Muddy Waters, which Chess Records originally released in 1968, has not seen a legitimate domestic vinyl release since 2002 despite its enormous influence on generations of blues rockers.

It features members of Rotary Connection as Muddy’s backing band and was very controversial upon its release for its fusion of electric blues with psychedelic elements. The album is now recognized as a forward-thinking classic, sampled extensively by artists like The Black Keys and Gorillaz.

This deluxe version of the Electric Mud reissue comes in “Chess-nut Brown” vinyl LP, with a hand screen-printed black matte jacket with silver type (a recreation of the rare, first pressing variant). It also comes with a 2-panel foldout poster, and a reproduction of the original “eight page” booklet. This deluxe version of the LP was released on Third Man Records in October 2017, at Jack White’s pressing facility in Detroit Michigan.
