“The Joshua Tree” is the fifth studio album by rock band U2. Released 9 March 1987 on Island Records, it was produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. The album is influenced by Irish and American roots music and is derived from the band’s “Romance with America”.

“The Joshua Tree” won Grammy Awards for “Album of the Year” and “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal” in Grammy Awards of 1988.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 26 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time“.
