Charlie Parker’s “Bird Symbols” is a compilation from sessions recorded in 1946 and 1947 featuring a young Miles Davis, with masters Errol Garner, Lucky Thompson, and Max Roach.

While the sound quality may not be pristine, Parker is in superior form as an artist on these tracks and these are still fine performances of particular interest to Parker collectors searching for his harder-to-procure Dial sessions.
