“The Best of The Modern Jazz Quartet” is a Greatest Hits compilation of recordings made by the Modern Jazz Quartet (MJQ) during the decade from 1956 to 1966.

This is a decent overview of late-period Modern Jazz Quartet sessions that were recorded for Pablo Records in the early ’80s, after pianist John Lewis, vibist Milt Jackson, bassist Percy Heath, and drummer Connie Kay renewed their musical association in 1982 following a lengthy absence.
