Description
Charles Lloyd in the Soviet Union was recorded live at the International Jazz Festival “Tallinn 1967,” Kalevi Sport Hall, Tallinn, Estonia.
The Charles Lloyd Quartet was possibly the most popular group in jazz during the latter half of the 1960’s, and a measure of the band’s popularity is that Lloyd and his sidemen were able to have a very successful tour of the Soviet Union during a period when jazz was discouraged by the then communist regime.
