Description
“Fenix” is a studio LP from 1971 recorded by Argentine saxophonist Gato Barbieri. The album had great success on college campuses in the early 70’s with its high-octane, incendiary performances. “Fenix” is a “high octane”, incendiary performance before Gato’s fall from “grace”.
Nana Vasconcelos‘ percussion is nothing short of perfection. The crass commercialism that followed can almost be forgiven when listening to this very “wicked” music!
Featuring Lonnie Liston Smith, Lenny White III, Joe Beck, and Ron Carter.
