Savoy Brown: Raw Sienna

Savoy Brown: Raw Sienna

$15.00

“Raw Sienna” is the fifth album by the band Savoy Brown. The last Savoy Brown recording to feature vocalist Chris Youlden. It was recorded and released by Decca in the UK 1970 in both mono and stereo (LK/SKL 5043). For release in USA and Canada, the tapes were leased to Parrot Records (London Records)—PAS 71036. It has been noted many times that band leader Kim Simmonds lost his greatest asset when vocalist Chris Youlden quit for an ill-fated solo career after this recording. Youlden had one of the most distinctive voices in British blues, and Savoy Brown would never fully recover from his exit.

Description

Savoy Brown, originally known as the Savoy Brown Blues Band, are an English blues/rock band formed in Battersea, South West London in 1965. Part of the late 1960s early 1970’s blues-rock movement, Savoy Brown primarily achieved success in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop touring (especially in Detroit, which they truly considered their home away from home).
