“Back on the Chain Gang (Limited Edition)” is a single b/w “My City Was Gone” written by Chrissie Hynde recorded by her band, The Pretenders, and released by Sire Records in September 1982.

The Pretenders produced numerous hit songs including Brass in Pocket, Back on the Chain Gang and Don’t Get Me Wrong; as well as 1994’s I’ll Stand by You, and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
