“The Border” is the soundtrack album produced by Ry Cooder for the 1982 film of the same name starring Jack Nicholson.

The album features the song “Across The Borderline” sung by Freddie Fender. Cooder’s career, which started with Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band, has led him into session work with the likes of artists from the Rolling Stones to the Buena Vista Social Club.
