Description
“The Mastery of John Coltrane Vol II: To the Beat of a Different Drum” is a double album compilation of recordings by jazz musician John Coltrane from 1963 and 1965, including several previously un-released tracks. “
To the Beat of a Different Drum” is a double album’s worth of this material released posthumously in 1978, featuring recordings in which Roy Haynes replaced Coltrane’s regular drummer Elvin Jones.
“Dear Old Stockholm” and “After The Rain” were recorded on April 29, 1963. “Impressions”, “I Want To Talk About You”, and “My Favorite Things” were recorded live at the Newport Jazz Festival, July 7, 1963. “After The Rain”, “Crescent”, “Dear Lord”, and “One Down, One Up” were recorded on May 26, 1965.
“Impressions”, After The Rain, “Crescent”, and “One Down, One Up” are previously unissued and released here for the first time.
