Brand X were a Jazz Fusion band active from 1975 to 1980, 1992 to 1999,  and were performing following a 2016 reunion until 2021.

Notable members included Genesis drummer & vocalist Phil Collins, guitarist John Goodsall, bassist Percy Jones, Herbie Hancock‘s drummer Mike Clark, Al Di Meola‘s live drummer Chuck Bürgi, and co-founder of Brand X and long time keyboard player and producer Robin Lumley.

They were named Brand X after Island Records staffer Danny Wilding wrote down “Brand X” to keep track of their activity on the studio calendar, and the name stuck.
