Savoy Brown: Street Corner Talking

Savoy Brown: Street Corner Talking

$15.00

“Street Corner Talking” is the seventh studio album by the band Savoy Brown. Released by Parrot in 1971 (PAS 71047), it was the first album released by the band since the departure of Lonesome Dave, Roger Earl, and Tone Stevens who all went on to form the band Foghat. This left Kim Simmonds as the only original member in the group. Simmonds recruited a fresh lineup of musicians which included Paul Raymond on Keyboards and Guitar, Andy Sylvester on Bass, Dave Bidwell on Drums and Dave Walker on Vocals and Budweiser. This in turn, ushered in a new sound for the band, which lasted through the albums “Hellbound Train” and “Lion’s Share”.

Part of the late 1960s early 1970’s blues-rock movement, Savoy Brown primarily achieved success in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop touring (especially in Detroit, which they truly considered their home away from home).
