“Mick Taylor”<\/strong> <\/em>is the debut album by former Rolling Stones<\/em><\/strong> guitarist Mick Taylor<\/strong>. Though the album was acclaimed by critics, the album’s blues-based style was somewhat unfashionable at the time of release, when punk and new wave were becoming more popular.<\/p>\n

For sheer beauty, the two instrumental pieces which close the album represent the very best of the kind of fusion where rock incorporates jazz.<\/p>\n

As a side note, after Brian Jones<\/em> was removed from The Rolling Stones<\/em><\/strong> in June 1969, John Mayall and Ian Stewart<\/em> recommended\u00a0Taylor<\/em>\u00a0to\u00a0Mick\u00a0Jagger<\/em>.\u00a0Taylor<\/em>\u00a0believed, all the while, that he was just being called in to be a session musician at his first studio session with The Rolling Stones<\/em>.<\/p>\n
