Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton<\/em><\/strong> is an album by John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers<\/strong> featuring Eric Clapton first released in 1966.<\/p>\n

John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers<\/b>\u00a0was an English\u00a0blues rock<\/a>\u00a0band, led by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist\u00a0John Mayall<\/a>. While never producing a radio-friendly hit on their own, the Bluesbreakers greatest legacy is as an incubator for British rock and blues musicians. Many of the best known bands to come out of Britain in the 1960s and 1970s had members that came through the Bluesbreakers at one time, forming the foundation of\u00a0British blues<\/a>music that still appears heavily in\u00a0classic rock<\/a>\u00a0radio.<\/p>\n

Among those with a tenure in the Bluesbreakers are\u00a0Eric Clapton<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jack Bruce<\/a>\u00a0(later of\u00a0Cream<\/a>),\u00a0Peter Green<\/a>,\u00a0Mick Fleetwood<\/a>, and\u00a0John McVie<\/a>\u00a0(who would form\u00a0Fleetwood Mac<\/a>),\u00a0Mick Taylor<\/a>\u00a0(the\u00a0Rolling Stones<\/a>),\u00a0Aynsley Dunbar<\/a>\u00a0(Frank Zappa<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0The Mothers of Invention<\/a>), and numerous other musicians.<\/p>\n

This first studio album and the second overall credited to John Mayall<\/strong>, had him teaming up for the first time in a studio release with ex-Yardbird Eric Clapton<\/strong> (their next and last time will be for six tracks of the 1971 double LP Back to the Roots<\/em><\/strong>).
